About Sheryl Sever
Sheryl Sever (aka Coach Shera) is a recognized organizational leadership and business development consultant, dynamic facilitator, author, and self-credentialed social psychologist with over 15 years experience developing and delivering Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Communications Training (many systems, hybrids, and influences) to professionals from over 40 countries on four different continents.
Sheryl is passionate about activating human potential to facilitate transformation, very motivated by the creativity, growth and wealth of opportunities inherent in the cycles of change.
She consults with organizational and business leaders, speaks and writes regularly on Personal & Organizational Leadership, Communication & Learning in the workplace, Social Change, and Awakened Entrepreneurship™.
Sheryl began her career in the non-profit sector working in Humboldt Park (Chicago’s largest Latino neighborhood) creating employment, education and community volunteer opportunities for youth and artists. After traveling throughout Mexico & Brazil, she relocated to San Francisco, and became very involved with the Mission Culture Center planning community arts and FUNraising events. A well-known California tour company recruited her, and Sheryl became one of the first certified tour guides in the State of California. For nearly 8 years, Sheryl operated her own very successful Tour and Corporate Meeting Planning services including on-site management at 1992 Barcelona Olympics and 1994 World Cup games, and board positions with the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau.
As founder of Cross Currents Communications, Sheryl partners with businesses and social profit leaders on human capital development, organizational /collaborative culture, and conscious business development. She has authored and delivered hundreds of courseware modules and has held adjunct faculty positions at the University of California, Berkeley, San Francisco State University, College of Marin, World Learning School for International Training, Transworld Teachers, and the American-Hispanic Cultural Institute in Madrid, Spain, where she lived for 2 years. She is a managing editor and writer for several motivational print and on-line publications, including the 2nd edition of the Sustainable World Sourcebook, SelfGrowth.com, E-Zine articles, and is a contributing author to the just released publication: 42 Rules for Successful Collaboration.
Her clients include Flextronics, McGraw-Hill Publishers, Pearson Education, Addison-Wesley-Longman, Wells Fargo Bank, Bank of America, ROSS Stores Corporate HR, Creative Marketing Incentives, San Francisco Visitors and Convention Bureau, C.E.O. Women, Jewish Vocational Services, along with numerous social-profits, Chambers of Commerce, community centers, start-ups and new entrepreneurs.
Sheryl is committed to environmental sustainabililty, socially conscious action, personal and collective fulfillment as the guiding principles for these times. Her big vision is to attract core members/investors to create an eco-conscious, transformative learning center that synthesizes the wisdom and practices from ancient traditions and contemporary models in support of sustainable business and conscious living for all.
